Pastel Spring Wedding at Adams Estate

Katie and Brenden’s stunning wedding day took place at the GORGEOUS Adams Estate on Lake Alfred! It’s hard to put into words what an honor it is to photograph one of your long-time friend’s wedding days, but this day was truly a dream to be a part of!

If you remember their engagement session at South Wind Ranch, you’ll recall that Katie and I have known each other for almost a decade! She is a wedding and senior photographer in the Tampa, FL area, where I’m from! We became good friends through the photography community, photographed each other’s headshots several times, had countless coffee and editing dates, and she’s photographed my family and me several times! It has been such a joy being her friend and sharing life and our passion for photography together.

When she asked me to photograph her wedding, I remember having a mini freak out, “NO WAY!! For real?!? In a heartbeat, YES!!” teary moment!! What a complete honor it was to photograph Katie and Brenden’s wedding with Jon!

Adams Estate was the most perfect backdrop for their special day! Katie and her girls were SUCH a fun bunch! I knew a couple of her bridesmaids, which made it extra fun to spend part of the wedding day with them! Jon had a bunch of fun with Brenden and his groomsmen, goofing off and taking hilarious portraits of them!

The day started with details and getting ready in the most beautiful bridal suite at Adams Estate! Katie had a special watercolor crest and venue painting made by Lana Dreams, that went on almost all of her wedding details including her invitations, signs in the reception, table numbers, and ceremony welcome sign. It was absolutely STUNNING and made for the most beautiful details!

After they got ready, Katie and Brenden had their first look under the oak trees! As the Spanish moss swayed in the wind, we watched as Brenden saw his soon-to-be bride for the first time. His eyes welled up with tears (which made all of us teary) as they just embraced each other in silence! It was easily my favorite part of their whole day. We then photographed their bridal party and some family photos and then they were hidden away as we prepped for the ceremony.

Brenden’s parents unfortunately weren’t able to make it to the wedding, due to travel restrictions in the Philippines. This is one of those times when technology made a way where they could still be present on Facetime through the ceremony and all during the reception! You’ll see photos of his family members holding the phone so that they could watch him marry the love of his life!

Their ceremony under the oak trees, was so sweet and absolutely beautiful. You could just see the joy exuding from their faces as they walked down the aisle as husband and wife!

Once their reception started, the party never stopped!! One of the sweetest moments of the reception was Katie’s special dance with her Mom, who she calls her best friend. I just love how close they are and the dance was incredibly emotional! A fun fact about their reception was their DJ, Ben!! He was also Jon and I’s wedding DJ in 2014! It was wonderful getting to see him again and work with him, as he is one of THE best DJs we know! He knew exactly what to do to keep the party lively the entire evening! After the dinner, toasts, cake, and a full-on party, Katie and Brenden ended the night with a private dance and then exited through a stunning sparkler exit!! It was THE best day!
