Destination weddings hold a very special place in my heart. It’s the perfect combination of love and adventure! Jon and I get the honor of documenting love while adventuring around new places (most times, kid free!)

When Kristen and Mike asked us to photograph their Michigan wedding, we were thrilled!! We hadn’t been to Michigan before and had heard that the weather in August was beautiful…not to mention the incredible venue their wedding would take place at!

Kristen and Mike’s wedding was spectacular! Seriously, everything about their day was like a fairytale, including the 75 degree weather! As a Floridian photographer, one of my thoughts was…”I should have packed a sweater and boots!” Haha, 75-60 degree weather is anything but common in FL. It was a refreshing change. 🙂

Their venue, The Inn at Bay Harbor looked like it was right out of a magazine, photogenic in every way! Their ceremony site, overlooking Lake Michigan could have been mistaken for the Caribbean! The different shades of blue were jaw dropping! The vibrant florals sprinkled all throughout the reception, the cool weather and glowy sunset… magical.

But most of all, Kristen and Mike’s genuine love for each-other shined SO bright for everyone to see, it’s obvious how tailor made for each other they are! And Mike’s reaction as Kristen made her way down the aisle…so stinking sweet!!

Their family welcomed us in as part of their own, Kristen’s Mom’s speech had me in tears, their bridal party was a blast to be around and the DJ threw the most EPIC dance party that literally went all night long!!! Needless to say, it was one of our favorite weddings that we’ve gotten the privilege of being a part of! We are so grateful that Kristen and Mike chose us to photograph their special day! We hope you love so many of our favorites from their day!
