The Thompson family lives in Indiana, and it just so happens they were in Charleston for a family vacation. My husband, sons, and I take a road trip to Florida every few months to see family and friends, and I was able to sync it up with them so that on our drive, we could make a stop in Charleston so I could capture their family photos!

Before we get into the shoot, remember a few weeks back when I told you I love connecting with other wedding creatives! Well, Maria and I met on Instagram as she is a fellow photographer, and we instantly clicked once we started chatting as we have so much in common. She is a photographer, we both have two kiddos, and she is also a lover of pastel colors.

It was warm and humid during their session, but that is expected in August in Charleston. We toured the downtown area and found some of the cutest spots for their photos. Specifically, The Mills House, their pink walls are to die for! It was such a blast working with them! I captured the kiddos in all of their glory, running and having a great time. While the kids took a break from photos, we captured the love that Maria and her husband, Matthew, share. It is always so important to me to get shots of “mom & dad” so they can look back on how fast time flies from the start of their relationship to where they are now in their lives.
