I’m thrilled to share this beautiful Max Patch Mountain engagement session with y’all! Max Patch Mountain in the fall was a dream location and it was an absolute joy to capture Rebecca and Tyler’s engagement photos there!
From our first consultation, I knew Becca & Tyler would be incredible to work with, and I was eager to learn more about their story. After dating for six years, Rebecca and Tyler were ready to embark on their wedding planning journey, shortly after getting engaged!
Tyler’s surprise proposal in Chicago, Becca’s hometown, during a Cubs game made their story even more special, and I couldn’t wait to document this exciting chapter in their lives.
As both their engagement and wedding photographer, it was important for me to capture the essence of their love story. We chose Max Patch Mountain for their engagement session, a perfect backdrop with stunning fall foliage and rolling hills. It was about a 2-and-a-half-hour drive so I took the whole family with me! I knew having Jon take some epic behind-the-scenes videos/photos was a must!
The hike up the mountain was worth every step, and the golden hour lighting added a magical touch to their photos. As the sun came closer to setting, it became FREEZING, but Becca & Tyler toughed it out! As the sun set, the sky and mountain range were completely breathtaking! It was easily one of the most beautiful sunsets I had ever seen.
We even had a fun adventure hiking back down the mountain in the dark, guided by flashlights and lots of laughter with the kids!
I love that their engagement session reflected how Rebecca and Tyler first met in the fall, making it even more meaningful to capture this next chapter of their story surrounded by all of autumn’s beauty. Make sure to scroll all the way through the photos to see the gorgeous sunset at the end!
