South Wind Ranch Fall Engagement Session

Katie and I have known each other for almost a decade! We became friends when Jon and I lived in Florida, through photography, and have swapped countless headshots over the years, had MANY editing coffee dates together, and she has also taken photos for our family several times! I treasure those the most!

So, when she asked me to be her wedding photographer, I was absolutely thrilled and honored! When we started going through her wedding details, we decided that on our next trip to Florida, we would meet her and Brenden for our date night consultation! It was so fun getting to know them as a couple and getting to meet Brenden for the first time!

As the months went on, they decided to fly to Greenville for their engagement session and take their photos at South Wind Ranch in late fall. Let’s just say it was the most beautiful day, and the backdrop was stunning! South Wind Ranch is always beautiful, but it was especially magical this evening!

It was a slightly breezy December evening, the fresh air blew through our hair as we all arrived. Being a photographer, shooting another photographer’s engagement session is always nerve-wracking because they know the drill already, and you, of course, want to do your absolute best for them (just as you would for any client of yours) but it’s a different type of pressure when it’s a good friend. However, It’s NO surprise that Katie and Brenden killed their session!! Every pose and prompt I gave them, they were SO natural and we laughed the whole time! Their outfits were spot on and their love for each other most definitely shown through their images. One of my favorite parts was when Brenden pushed Katie on the swing on the side of the hill! Pure joy, like a kid!! I took a turn as well thanks to Katie! Haha

The sunset that night was beautiful and we got to admire it right before we left! We met up with Jon and the boys for dinner afterwards which was so much fun and delicious!! I’m honored to have been their photographer and can’t wait to share so many photos from their engagement session at South Wind Ranch in Travelers Rest, SC!
