Hi sweet friends! I’m beyond excited to share the story of when I had the opportunity to photograph the Simplified Butterfly Garden Collection of Planners! This product and lifestyle branding session was a joy to capture, and one I had to keep under wraps until the 2022-2023 planner collection launch. Emily Ley and Team Simplified did an incredible job creating some of the most beautiful patterns and hand-painted works of art for the covers!
Having worked with the Simplified Team a few times before, I was honored to have another opportunity to showcase these vibrant planners as their brand photographer. Whitney, the Creative Director and a sweet momma herself, graciously opened her home and lush garden to us, creating the perfect setting to capture this bright and airy collection. With bumblebees and butterflies gracing the garden, every detail seemed to bring the collection to life.
Unlike my typical brand photoshoots, where I prepare a detailed shot list with my clients, the Simplified team provided a list of key looks that aligned perfectly with their vision for the collection. From planners and pens to pencil bags and more pretty office accessories, capturing each thoughtfully designed detail was a top priority. It was wonderful to bring their story to life through each image. Though their shot list was easy and to the point, I could also stage and style many of the different products together to make sure there was plenty of variety!
This session was extra special when I had the chance to capture a few heartfelt moments of Whitney and her adorable baby girl in their garden, surrounded by the beauty of nature. So many sweet giggles were shared! Another favorite part of this session was the kitchen set of images, where fresh coffee brewed as Whitney enjoyed a moment with her planner and baby in hand—a simple, everyday moment that connected so naturally with the essence of the Simplified Butterfly Garden Collection.
A month or two after this session, I got a chance to photograph more lifestyle branding for their Christmas launch that year. I’ll be sharing more from that session soon! It’s always a joy working with Team Simplified!
