Kate and Adam’s Mission Inn Resort Wedding was one of the most photogenic venues I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing.
When Kate and Adam booked me and we shot their engagement session ,they told us that their venue is in Howey in the Hills, Florida. I don’t know about you, but I had NO idea that such a place existed! I had never heard of it and when I typed it in the gps, it said the drive was 2 hours from our house so you could imagine that I would be curious what it would look like. I pictured that it would be in the middle of no where, with a lot of hills and of course, Howey. Jon and I joked that the first thing we wanted to do was find Howey!
Well, the venue pretty much blew our minds and exceeded any expectations we had! It was in the middle of no where, and was placed nicely on top of a hill! So we were right about most everything, but had no idea how beautiful it would be. So you could imagine I was in photographer heaven with SO many different types of locations, which you’ll notice in the pictures below.
Another thing about this day that we didn’t plan on was bringing Liam. Kate is pretty much the coolest most laid back bride ever. Our friends who were going to watch Liam had a last minute emergency so our plan B ended up being my sister watching Liam at the wedding since she is best friends with Kate’s sister! Kate literally watched the Emperors New Groove with Liam on her wedding morning while I painted a sign for their reception. I’ll be writing a separate blog post on that!
If you didn’t see their engagement session then you wouldn’t know these two met while working at the happiest place on earth, Disney World! A bunch of their best friends work there as well so the dance floor was hopping the entire night with brand new dances I had never seen before!! It was the coolest thing and so entertaining!
Their ceremony was held under southern mossy trees as Kate, Adam and their bridal party walked down the isle wearing and carrying bouquets and boutonnieres made by her grandma. Kate’s makeup was done by her talented sister Olivia! Their flower girl wore a gorgeous dress made by Kate’s mother. The sunset that night was beautiful and they exited through a tunnel of glow sticks! A couple things I’d like to mention aside from their day basically being perfect, we saw several alligators at multiple locations and a baby bunny that scurried through the grass during some of their portraits that made us squeal! I totally didn’t think it was a snake… 🙂
We had an absolute blast capturing Kate and Adam’s special day! SO thankful to have them as clients and friends! I hope you enjoy the MANY favorites I chose for their wedding blog!
Also, a huge thank you to their vendors who made their day extra special!
