Ciara and Matt booked me for their wedding a couple months prior to the big day! In the small amount of time that we had to get to know them, Jon and I feel like they are good friends of ours now!
For their engagement session, they wanted to go out on their boat to really capture their shared love for the water, being outdoors and boating! They took Jon, myself AND Liam out on the boat for an amazing adventure! We shot in the middle of a sandbar that had birds flying EVERYWHERE! (I still have yet to share their engagement blog!) and then went to a little island for the sunset! We got a good sense of who they were as people and as a couple during their engagement session and were so excited to be the ones shooting their wedding!
The big day came a month later at the Don CeSar, a building that was built in the 1920’s! It is a stunning, castle like, cotton candy colored building! I had never shot a wedding there before so when I saw the coral walls, I pretty much squealed with excitement! Matt and Ciara’s day went just as planned, the weather was actually chilly and windy, but we were so thankful that it wasn’t hot! Their ceremony was right in the middle of the resort with the gorgeous building and palm trees surrounding them. I could have shot there for weeks! As they were being introduced at the reception, Matt carried Ciara in ON HIS SHOULDERS!!! Everyone cheered so loud!
The sunset just kept getting better and better. Luckily, part of the reception was held on the roof and had a perfect view of the beach! When it came time for Matt to get the garter from Ciara…He did something I had never seen in my 6 years of shooting…this groom put GOGGLES and a SNORKEL on his face and acted like he was going to dive into the ground!! It was hilarious and so unexpected! They ended the night off with a beautiful sparkler exit!
We are so happy to have had the honor of capturing their wedding day! We wish you two the best! Here are a bunch of our favorites!
A special thanks to all the vendors who made Matt and Ciara’s wedding extra special!
