I want to start by saying, this engagement session made me incredibly nervous before we even got to the location. Do you want to know why?
It was on a day that we had a severe storm warning, one of the first in several years!! Whitney and Clayton were very willing to go out on a limb and show up, on the off chance that we would be able to get through their session without flying debris hitting them, my camera, or getting soaked by rain.
As soon as we got there, I saw the crazy wind and told them, “We can totally make this work…in between each burst of wind.” I was definitely optimistic once I saw that there wasn’t rain or lightning and believe it or not, the sun actually came out twice during their session! You wont be able to tell by the majority of photos how windy it really was, but trust me, it was one of the windiest yet. (I did in fact try and move a palm frond and it blew right back in my FACE. haha, definitely took me by surprise.)
It turned out to be one of my all time favorite engagement sessions and I’m sure their wedding will be as well. These two contacted me and as soon as I talked with Whitney on the phone, we clicked. They planned their destination wedding in Utah at Zion National Park and I prayed that we would be able to shoot it! Sure enough, God blessed us with another awesome couple! Jon and I will be shooting their October wedding in an amazing place that we’ve never been to and we can’t be more excited!
I hope you all enjoy a bunch of my favorites from their engagement session! <3
