The Rusty Pelican | December Wedding | Mr + Mrs Blakey

Weddings

Jaimee and Eric’s December wedding was absolutely stunning!

Jaimee and Eric met while working together, kind of the “we’re just friends” but really ended up falling for each other! They have a love for food, wine and travel so while they were on vacation in Napa, the rented this cutest cottage through AirBnB. There were vineyards surrounding the cottage and gorgeous views of the mountains on both sides of the valley. On their first morning there, Eric asked Jaimee to go on a walk through the vineyards with him. Next thing she knows, he’s telling her how he wants to spend forever with her and gets down on one knee. She said, “There were instant tears. So many emotions that I don’t actually remember saying yes, but he swears I did!” haha!! They spent the rest of our trip celebrating in Napa and then celebrated with their families as soon as they got back home..how magical and romantic!! They are so much fun to be around and both have a great sense of humor!!

There were so many things about their wedding day that made it unique to them and several extra special moments that had everyone in tears. Jaimee’s mother passed away from Cancer a couple years ago and as difficult as it was to not have her physically there with her, Jaimee did a beautiful job honoring her memory and her mama was definitely there in spirit. As she got ready, Jaimee’s Aunt helped her into her dress while Jaimee wore her mother’s ring.

Eric and Jaimee shared the sweetest first look as they read letters to each other before we headed over to their ceremony. It was held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Dunedin and as Jaimee walked down the aisle to her best friend, arm in arm with her father, she held a bouquet that had several different charms that represented her mother, grandmother and grandfather (all who would have loved to be present on her wedding day) pinned to it. After her father ‘gave her away’, a white rose in memory of her mother was given from her aunt to her father. It was very emotional and such a special way to honor her loved ones. We were so happy to capture these extra special parts of their day.

The rest of their wedding day was spectacular, from the time we spent with their bridal party, to the delicious dinner, the CAKE made by my sweet friend, Jen of Wandering Whisk Bakeshop, and of course the blast of a party afterwards!! The dance floor was FULL the entire night!! Their two families and friends sure love to dance and have fantastic taste in music!

Eric and Jaimee are incredibly kind people with big hearts and treat everyone like family including Jon and I. They were our last wedding of 2018 and it was literally a cherry on top of the wedding season!! We are SO grateful to have had the Blakey’s as our clients and now friends!! Praying for your marriage to be as beautiful as your wedding day!

A huge thanks to all their wonderful vendors!
