Josh and Amanda’s wedding was absolutely stunning. They chose to get married in the same town that Josh proposed, the beautiful and historic, Savannah, GA.
If you guys don’t already know this, I will tell you right now, destination weddings are becoming a new favorite of mine! It’s such a treat to get out of Florida and shoot somewhere brand new, on one of the best day’s of my couples lives. If you don’t remember Josh and Amanda, click here to see their engagement session!
They are two quality down to earth people, very laid back and SO MUCH FUN! Their wedding day was a blast from start to finish! I had my sweet friend Jennifer (a wedding photographer based in SC and GA) second shooting with me which was extremely cool because last year she took our Anniversary picture while we were visiting Savannah! Since their wedding was the day before Liam’s second birthday, we brought him on the road trip and planned to stay for his birthday, which meant Jon hanging with Liam all day while Jennifer and I shot the wedding! We had so much fun, I’d love to go back and do it again!
Their ceremony was held in the Oglethorpe Square with the absolute cutest mismatched chairs, lined with greenery. It was simple and so unique, I couldn’t stop taking detail shots! The whole day was filled with emotion, I teared up several times watching Amanda and Josh read their vows to each other and later that night when they had their last dance, alone in their empty reception room, lit with candles and pretty lights, to a song I still have yet to get out of my head. She wore her mother’s pearls and he wore a grin that spread across his face every time he looked at her, most likely thinking, wow, this woman is my wife now!
Portrait time with them was a dream; you’ll notice that there are A TON of favorites shown throughout the blog. I’d just like take pictures along those buildings/streets every day! And the cupcakes?! DANG. I have NEVER seen so many people line up so fast to get cupcakes! After they fed each other cupcakes, I took the last few detail shots of the cupcakes and turned around to see a whole line of people behind me waiting to eat them! It was hilarious!
The venue was amazing, it was the rooftop of Church Hill’s, strung with lights and on the inside sat several gorgeous tables with stunning centerpieces and florals that gave me heart eyes! Everything was wonderful, her vendors were fantastic and the bridal party was so nice!! (We got to meet all of them at their rehearsal the day before) After they exited into sparklers into their happily ever after, we said our goodbye’s and Jon picked me up, then spent the last two hours of Liam being 1 year old snuggling and laughing with him.
The next day, Liam’s birthday, we picked a delicious restaurant to eat breakfast at and Amanda, Josh, their family and some of their bridal party happened to pick the same one and showed up as we were waiting for our food! We got to wish them another congratulations before they went off on their honeymoon! I am so blessed to have such wonderful clients who turn into friends.
Also, fun fact and side note, Amanda asked me to hand letter her seating chart for her! So, a couple weeks before her wedding, she came over and read off all the names of her guests as I lettered them onto a mirror, my first time ever! I’d totally do it again!
Josh and Amanda, you two are AWESOME and I am so thankful you chose me to capture such a precious day for you!! I hope you love a bunch of my favorites from your day!
A huge shout out to all the amazing vendors I got to work with!! THANK YOU for helping make their day so wonderful!
