Friends, this specific wedding is near and dear to my heart. I got the privilege of photographing my cousin, Melissa’s wedding and couldn’t be more excited for her and her Husband Cory!!

It was my first time photographing a family members wedding and all throughout the day, I just kept thinking, it’s such an honor that she and Cory trusted me to document all the excitement and events of what will be one of the best days of their lives!

The whole week before Cory and Melissa’s wedding, a hurricane was gearing up to hit the East Coast, which made for some uncertainty for how their wedding day was going to look. We had planned for at least, a full on rainy day with some wind as the hurricane slowed down and was supposed to hit two days after their wedding. However, on their wedding day, we had nothing except overcast skies, which was an answered prayer!!

Melissa and Cory had an intimate and beautiful ceremony at their home church in Gainesville, FL on the last day of August! They had a small reception that followed, full of their family, close friends and church family! Melissa’s mom made her cake (which was delicious!) and their bridal party was Melissa’s sister and Cory’s brother. All of Melissa’s nieces and nephews walked down the aisle as flower girls and ring bearers as well which just melted my heart! Melissa and Cory shared laughs during their ceremony and were total troopers later on when taking their portraits in the heat which turned out gorgeous! It was such a beautiful wedding day!

My dad, Jon and the boys were also at the wedding which made for some excitement and quick snuggles during the day! I was a solo photographer for Melissa and Cory’s wedding, which made me realize, even with a smaller ceremony and shorter wedding day, how grateful I am to have Jon with me on most wedding days.
